Project - Gordon
AEGIS Consulting Engineers + Project Managers were appointed as the Superintendent for the replacement of combustible cladding on a eight-storey residential building under the NSW Government’s Project Remediate – a voluntary program supporting eligible Class 2 buildings requiring flammable cladding rectification.
As this project progresses, AEGIS continues to act as the primary communication channel between all key stakeholders — including the design consultants, independent assurer, remediation contractor, managing contractor, and the Owners Corporation — ensuring alignment, continuity, and clear coordination throughout all phases of delivery.
🔧 Our role includes:
Coordinating design, assurance, and construction activities
Overseeing contract administration in accordance with Project Remediate requirements
Monitoring compliance with safety, performance, and installation standards
Facilitating stakeholder communication and managing site attendances
Responding to RFIs, design queries, and emerging issues to maintain project momentum
⚠️ Current project challenges include:
Funding constraints, requiring careful staging and cost-management strategies
Latent conditions identified during early investigations, requiring careful scope clarification and informed decision-making to maintain project progress.
Existing building defects — including rooftop and balcony waterproofing issues — uncovered during assessment, which require parallel planning but will not be completed as part of the current Project Remediate scope.
These findings have required rigorous scope management to ensure the project remains on track while clearly separating remediation items that fall outside the approved program.
🔄 Project status:
Works are ongoing, with the cladding replacement and associated remediation continuing to progress in alignment with Project Remediate requirements and DBP compliance obligations.
As the project advances, AEGIS remains committed to delivering a fully compliant, durable, and aesthetically aligned façade upgrade — while supporting the Owners Corporation through every stage of this complex remediation journey.
Another example of AEGIS providing strong superintendent leadership across multi-stakeholder, compliance-driven building remediation projects.
