Project - The Milson

Waterproofing and Facade Remediation

AEGIS was engaged to prepare a Design and Building Practitioners Act (DBPA)-compliant scope of works for the remediation of waterproofing, glazing and external finishes at The Milson, a 19-storey residential tower in Milsons Point, NSW. The project aimed to address ongoing water ingress issues and improve the durability and performance of the southwest and western façades.

A targeted remedial approach was designed to be cost-effective while complying with the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards (including AS4654). The scope included full balcony upgrades, new waterproofing membranes, drainage improvements, retiling and balustrade upgrades. Window and door units were resealed or replaced with compliant flashing and gasket systems. Internal repairs were carried out to address render and paint damage caused by moisture ingress.

Safety, quality and compliance were prioritised through mandatory site safety controls, engineer inspection hold points and progressive cleaning and protection protocols. The works also ensured that all products and methods were DBPA-registered and backed by appropriate warranties and documentation.

The project is currently in progress and is expected to reach completion within two years, delivering a safe, compliant and high-performance façade system for long-term durability.
