AEGIS Consulting Engineers + Project Managers has been appointed as the lead Engineering Consultants and Superintendent for a remediation project involving concrete spalling, drainage upgrades, façade repairs, and window remediation works at an apartment complex.

Our role includes:
Forensic investigations, condition assessments and preparation of detailed scope of works and technical specifications
Stormwater upgrade, façade, waterproofing and remedial design documentation
Coordination and management of the tender and contract phase
Acting in the role of Superintendent for the duration of the project, including site attendances, responding to RFI’s, issuing site instructions, review of progress claims, and coordination with all stakeholders

Challenges for the project included:
Latent conditions and extension of concrete spalling
Access by way of abseil for façade repairs
Location of the complex being 144m from the ocean

Works to the rear stormwater upgrades are progressing and façade concrete repairs are continuing with a continued focus on safety, compliance, and quality outcomes for the client.
