AEGIS Consulting Engineers + Project Managers is pleased to announce that the replacement of combustible cladding on an eight-storey residential building has reached practical completion under the NSW Governmentโs Project Remediate, a voluntary program supporting eligible Class 2 buildings requiring flammable cladding rectification.
AEGIS was appointed as Superintendent and acted as the primary communication channel between all key stakeholders throughout the project, including the design consultants, independent assurer, remediation contractor, managing contractor and the Owners Corporation. This kept everyone aligned and coordinated through every phase of delivery.

Coordinating design, assurance and construction activities

Funding constraints, addressed through careful staging and cost-management strategies
Latent conditions identified during early investigations, resolved through clear scope clarification and informed decision-making
Existing building defects, including rooftop and balcony waterproofing issues, uncovered during assessment. These fell outside the Project Remediate scope and were identified for the Owners Corporation to plan for separately.
Rigorous scope management kept the project on track while clearly separating remediation items that fell outside the approved program.

The cladding replacement and associated remediation works were completed in accordance with Project Remediate requirements and DBP compliance obligations, delivering a compliant, durable and visually cohesive faรงade upgrade for the Owners Corporation.
