Project - Dee Why
AEGIS Consulting Engineers + Project Managers were appointed as the Superintendent for the replacement of combustible cladding on a seven-storey residential building under the NSW Government’s Project Remediate – a voluntary program supporting eligible Class 2 buildings requiring flammable cladding rectification.
In this role, AEGIS acted as the primary communication channel between all key stakeholders, including the design consultants, independent assurer, remediation contractor, managing contractor, and the Owners Corporation, ensuring alignment and continuity throughout the project.
🔧 Our role included:
Coordination of design, assurance, and construction activities.
Oversight of contract administration in accordance with Project Remediate requirements.
Monitoring compliance with safety, performance and installation standards.
Managing site attendances and facilitating stakeholder communication throughout construction.
Responding to project issues, RFIs, and technical queries to maintain project momentum.
⚠️ Project challenges included:
Supply chain disruptions affecting availability and lead times for approved cladding systems.
Complex weatherproofing requirements, requiring careful oversight to ensure compliance and prevent water ingress.
Through diligent communication, contract enforcement, and coordinated stakeholder action, the project progressed without interruption.
✅ The result:
The project was successfully delivered with a high-quality cladding installation, achieving the aesthetic, compliance, and fire safety outcomes expected under Project Remediate — with positive feedback from all parties involved.
Another strong example of AEGIS delivering structured, reliable, and compliant remediation leadership under the DBP framework.
