Project - The Adina

Cladding Replacement

AEGIS Consulting Engineers and Project Managers was engaged to manage the replacement of combustible aluminium composite panel (ACP) cladding on a multi‑storey mixed-use building. The original ACP was identified as a fire risk and targeted for removal to bring the façade in line with modern fire safety and building code requirements.

The objective was to deliver a safe, compliant, and durable façade upgrade without changing the building’s architectural appearance.

Our role was as Superintendent (client-side contract manager), including liaising with local council, and engineering oversight.

The scope of works included:

·         Full removal of ACP cladding and installation of a certified, non-combustible panel system

·         Structural assessments and subframe repairs prior to recladding

·         Detailed attention to weatherproofing, structural fixings, thermal breaks and sealants in accordance with AS/NZS standards

The works were delivered in carefully managed stages to minimise disruption for residents and hotel operations. All aspects of the project were carried out in full compliance with the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards. The project resulted in a significantly safer and fully compliant façade, greatly enhancing fire resistance and durability while maintaining the building’s original aesthetic.
