Project - The Spalling

AEGIS Consulting Engineers + Project Managers was engaged to provide urgent engineering and superintendent services after an Owners Corporation reported fallen concrete sections at their residential building. The immediate risks to resident and property safety required fast, decisive action.

🔧 Our role included:

  • Attending site two assess the risk and identifying two high-risk spalling locations, along with widespread deterioration.

  • Issuing a safety alert to strata, recommending balcony exclusion zones and bollard installation.

  • Coordinating with Tabak Pty Ltd on-site to bollard off areas, scope repairs, and remove loose concrete sections.

  • Overseeing contractor works, including EWP access, make-safe activities, and full spalling repair.

  • Providing daily liaison, site inspections, and photographic verification of progress.

  • Developing a Scope of Works to ensure DBPA compliance for emergency works.

  • Completing the Design Declaration for the as-built documentation.

Overall, the project was completed swiftly with the assistance of Integrity Strata and Tabak Pty Ltd to safeguard residents while delivering compliant, practical, and effective engineering outcomes.
